The Urge for Connection

The Urge for Connection

In the Netherlands it is officially 3rd week of quarantine. And due to the specifics of my coaching business, working from home was not something new or unfamiliar for me. I actually really love my home office after spending 15 years in corporate.

Although the first quarantine week was challenging and overwhelming with emotions, fears, anxiety, the elements of denial and attempts to control something, the 2nd and the 3rd weeks appeared to be much better, or at least I was able to recover quicker from stress and being more creative instead of reactive, feeling more resilient. In the beginning the masculine mode was very dominant in myself, trying to strategize and “fix” things, bring quick solutions, follow the agenda. Now I feel that the energy has softened, it became more feminine, I am more open to surrender, accept myself and the situation overall.

I consciously chose to see the current situation as a beautiful opportunity to pause and connect with myself, to hear and feel my true “wants”. And after connecting with myself, I felt the urge to connect with people who I really care of: my family, friends, MBA classmates, my Leadership program tribe and to share “real stuff”, real emotions and feelings that we all experience now.

Those true connections are like an “anchor” for me now. I feel myself fully PRESENT and very GRATEFUL for having all these people in my life. It fulfills me, it makes me happy and it gives me energy to create.

And apparently I had something to create.

At some point I felt the urge to share with my coaching clients some “tools and tricks” that help me to stay in more creative mode now. So I created free voluntary online meet-up that was very welcomed, and it will be continued from now on weekly basis.

Today I organized Zoom call for 20 kids (!) from my daughter’s class (4-6 years old). That was full house and complete chaos... and everyone enjoyed that!!! So with parents we have decided to keep those Thursday chaotic weekly meetings for kids, so they could enjoy and have fun with each other.

And my invitation for you is really to connect with Yourself, feel your own wants and then listen... something beautiful will come out!
